More Comment Plugins For WordPress

I have mentioned comments are important and should be encouraged before, right? Pretty sure I have said something or another about the importance of comments and how to make you commentators feel special at least once or twice. ;)

JohnTP has a list of the Top 5 WordPress Plugins That Help Increase Comments. I already use a couple on this list and agree with the rest.

I won’t go into a lot of detail here but I will run down the list quickly since they are all aimed at normal WordPress and I use WordPress MU (at least for now).

I will add a couple to the list though. ;)

Show Top Commentators was previously explained in Blog Comments And Commentators Are Important. This plugin is beyond easy to put in and rewards your top commentators with a nice friendly link to their site.

Subscribe to Comments is a plugin that allows commentators on your blog to check a box before commenting and get e-mail notification of further comments. The installation of this popular WordPress plugin went super easily as well. Being notified that someone is talking to you always helps a conversation. This plugin does just that.

Brief side note: by reading the comments about this plugin before I installed it, I got to see that this particular plugin is made by someone who respects their users and the users’ desires. There is now a nice checkbox in the configuration to select email notification by default, which was a user request.
