Free Site Design
On the off chance that you might have missed it, I am not a huge fan of spending a lot of time on design. Unless you are trying to market your great design skills, of course.
That said, I will agree that the default WordPress theme (or any other script’s default theme) is boring. Sooner or later, I will change this theme. Maybe.
It is still low on the priorities.
When I do change the theme here, it will either be subtle changes to make the default theme a bit more personalized or I will pick out a theme quickly and set it up and hack it around to suit my needs. Either way, I will NOT spend a lot of time or money on the theme for this site or even most of my other sites.
Bet you are thinking this is going to be one whale of an ugly site.
Ok, so you know me and know I am likely to make something ugly, but that is not what has to be the outcome of following my theories. There are some flat out gorgeous templates to be found! Some are even easy to work with.
Surf on over to Open Source Web Design and take a peek at what they have. Being open source, you can use these templates for FREE and you are not required to link to them. Nice!
Course, just cause you are not required to link to them, you might want to show some support and respect… maybe write a blog article promoting them and their fine work.
Maybe even add them a bit more prominently in your navigation.
Enjoy!

Apparently all of the Wordpress ‘official’ templates for just as well for WP MU, so that made it very easy to have many different styles for my multiple blogs.
yes, there really is no major difference between running WordPress and WordPress MU. it is all just a matter of degree and some slight differences in the admin forms. even things that are not official usable for MU can usually be convinced to work with what i consider a small amount of hacking. tad better docs would really make a HUGE difference in the whole WordPress package. but for the price, it cant be beat

BTW, seeing as how I am writing docs for WP, I figure it gives me *some* room to whine.
